All About Ian!

Ian O'Donnell is a singer and musician in the tradition of the Bards of old, traveling and performing in Irish Pubs and Renaissance Fairs around the U.S. and in Europe. Ian performs traditional Irish/Celtic folk music as well as original music in a similar vein. He is known for fun, upbeat shows that are loaded with excitement, laughter and great music! (Don't forget the 3 magic words: "Audience... Participation... Tune!")

If you have met Ian, you may have seen him performing at one of these Renaissance Fairs in the US: Arizona, Bristol, Carolina, Colorado, East Point, Kansas City, King's Bridge, Maryland, Ohio, Scarborough & Tennessee. You may also have seen him leading the Pub Sing or Opening/Closing Gate Shows at the Tennessee Renaissance Fair, where he has been the Music Coordinator for the past four years. Ian has also recently been invited to be the Music Coordinator for the new Castle Renaissance Fair in Muskogee, Oklahoma! Be sure to drop by and visit him there, where he'll be the Tavern Meister and will lead the Pub Sing at the end of the day.

Ian is also part of a musical group called The Mariners. The Mariners specialize in songs of the sea and rollicking good times - for the audience as well as themselves! If you've been to the Pirates in Paradise festival in the Florida Keys, you may have seen them there. They have also been featured performers for Pirates Weekend at the Kansas City Renaissance Fair. If you get a chance to catch them, do so! Be ready for a great time, and... keep an eye on your wives and daughters!

If the Renaissance Fair thing is not your thing (or at least not yet!) then you may have met Ian in a pub somewhere - either singing or drinking -or both! Ian has performed at a number of pubs in the U.S. and in Europe, including: Limerick Junction (Atlanta, Georgia), McGuire's Irish Pub (Pensacola, Florida), O'Shaughnessy's (Atlanta), O'Flaherty's Irish Channel Pub (New Orleans, Louisiana), The Buccaneer (Marathon Key, Florida), County Cork (Atlanta), Irish Bred (Atlanta), and the Irish Rover Pub (Hamburg, Germany). If you have a pub in your area that you would like to have Ian visit, let him know (bard@chivalry.com) or contact Raven Records directly.

Several recordings of Ian's music are available through Raven Records. If you would like to take him home with you (on tape, that is!) visit the music section of this web site! A fourth project is currently under way and should be completed sometime in 1997. This latest recording is tentatively titled, "Then and Now" and will feel a bit more modern, while staying true to the Celtic roots. Check back here for future details as they develop or sign the Guest Book and you can be notified when it's released!
