Chivalry Music Services
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chivalry Music specializes in promotion and marketing services for Irish, Scottish and American traditional folk musicians.

"We open doors for you."
At Chivalry Music, we believe in putting the power of success back in the hands of independent artists. Marketing, promotion, sales and distribution services don't require a contract with a major record company any more.  You can 'work the Web' and use the global Internet music community to promote your art and reach new audiences.

U.S. Representation
We book performance dates for a (very) limited roster of artists. At this time we are not taking new artists. No, really. I mean it. Please don't ask.  I may start booking more again in a couple years.

P-3 and O-1 visa petitions
Preparation and submission of performing artist visas for Celtic genre performers from Europe with at least 5 years of international performance history and peer references. For normal processing, at least 4 months lead time is required.  For BCIS "premium processing" service,  6 weeks is required. You must provide reference letters, promotional materials and tour dates.  Standard fee is $550 + BCIS application fees and peer consultation letter fee. Subsequent petitions for the same artist are $450 + fees.

Web site design and hosting
over nine years of experience in web site design, administration,  maintenance and marketing, we have the skills necessary to create a web site that will reflect the character of your art, and be an effective marketing tool.

Printed promotional materials
We can take your bios and press clippings and turn them into a professional looking press kit for promoting your act. Deliverables may include a complete press kit folder, e-kit, gig poster, one-sheet flyer. We'll arrange printing or provide digital files for you to have printed.

Music digitization
We have the equipment and expertise to create digital sound files in MP3 RealMedia, WAV and other formats for use in various web applications as well as for demo and promotional CDs.

Song research and licensing
As a specialized service to folk and traditional musicians, we will assist you in researching the origins of songs and tunes, particularly when authorship and copyright status is in question.  We put the resources of Cantaria and our worldwide connections with music historians and collectors to work to find origins on even the most obscure songs and tunes.

For copyrighted songs and tunes, we will assist you in obtaining a mechanical license agreement.

Why get burned for having no credits or wrong credits on your albums when we can help you get it right?

Product Sales
We understand the demanding lifestyles of touring musicians and know that it's very difficult to handle mail order sales when you are traveling several months out of the year. As a service to independent musicians, we will handle all or any portion of your mail-order and web credit card sales, including all the transaction processing, shipping and returns.

By being part of the Chivalry Music catalog, your sales are increased by genre-association. Someone who comes to purchase a CD or book from one group may order something by a group they just learn about through Chivalry Music. We can work on a consignment or wholesale purchase basis. Contact us for details.

Mechanical Licensing and Royalties Collection
As a service to songwriters based outside the U.S., we can act as your North American representative to issue mechanical licenses and collect royalties with performers producing 5000 CDs or less.

Web advertising
Where on the web can you advertise your products? We can help you by designing ads and finding suitable advertising space in related markets.
