Cold Blow and the Rainy Night (1974)
Planxty

Michael Simmons writes: "Cold Blow and the Rainy Night was the third Planxty recording, released shortly before the band members dispersed to form the Bothy Band, Moving Hearts, and De Dannan. It was as if the implications of their revolutionary blending of the instrumental and vocal strains of Irish music were too profound to be contained in one band. Planxty re-formed after a hiatus of a few years, but the chemistry after these first three albums was never quite the same."
